1934 Moshe Givati was born in Hadera under the name Moshe Hacohen Wexler.
1936-1939 Moved to live with his grandmother in the Bessarabian town of Khotin. Returned to Palestine shortly
before the out break of World War II.
1939-1949 Lived with his family in Hadera and in the Tel Mond orchards.
1949-1951 Agricultural training (Hachshara) in Kibbutz Shamir.
1951 Joined Kibbutz Sha’ar Ha’amakim with the Hachshara members.
1952 Enlisted with the Nahal Command of the IDF.
1955 Married Yael. His daughter Vered was born.
1957 His son Ben-Zion was born.
1960 Studied drawing with Marcel Janco at Oranim College.
1962 His son Nir was born.
1964 Traveled to Italy, Holland, Spain, and France. Stayed in Paris.
1966 Went to Paris for several months.
1967 Lived and worked in Paris.
1969 Left Kibbutz Sha’ar Ha’amakim, and rented a studio on Yitzhak Sadeh Street, Tel Aviv.
Moved with his family to the Artist Village, Ein Hod.
1970 The family left Ein Hod for Haifa.
1970-1971 Joined Itzhak Danziger on the “Rehabilitation of the Nesher Quarry” project.
— Set up a screenprint workshop to document the Nesher Quarry Project.
— Taught painting at the University of Haifa and the Technion – Institute of Technology, Haifa.
1973 Went to Germany but cut his visit short due to the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War.
1974-1982 Lived and worked in New York.
1979 His daughter Shifra was born in New York.
1981-1982 Moved to Crown Heights and became close to the court of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Married Roni Lavie.
1982 Returned to Israel with Roni and Shifra. The family lived in Tel Aviv.
— His daughter Yehudit was born.
1986-1987 Taught painting and print techniques at the Artists’ House, Tel Aviv.
1987 Opened Studio Givati on Neve Sha’anan Street in the old Tel Aviv Central Bus Station.
1993 Left the studio following a heart attack. Moved to the Marina Hotel, Tel Aviv.
1994 Lived and worked in the Diplomat Hotel, Jerusalem.
1995 Returned to Tel Aviv and rented an apartment on Ben Zion Blvd, where he lived and worked until his last days.
2012 Passed away April 13th, 2012 in Tel Aviv, at the age 78
